Blue checks look fresh, a little like summer by the sea. On this kelim the pattern is woven flat in cotton, by hand in India. Crisp. With white furniture and light wood it brightens a kitchen or a child's room straight away.

Because it is so flat, doors open over it easily and chair legs do not catch on it, which matters in a busy kitchen where people come and go all day long. Vacuum regularly. Small spills can be dabbed with lukewarm water and a drop of mild detergent. An anti slip pad keeps it in place.
