Yarn spun from plastic that has already been used once. The 14 designs here are made of exactly that, woven by hand from 100 % recycled polyester, or PET. According to our product data no newly made polyester is mixed in. Every recycled rug in this collection lies flat, and is meant for indoors and outdoors alike.
Recycled PET yarn is often made from used plastic bottles. Where the raw material for these rugs comes from, our product data don't say. What is certain is that a rug from recycled plastic gives the material a second life.
On the balcony
Outside, the flat weave shows what it can do. Shake out sand and leaves and you're done. Two folding chairs suddenly become a proper seating corner.
Even so, a recycled outdoor rug isn't meant to live outside all year. After a shower, stand it up so it dries all round. Over winter, store it somewhere dry.

All designs are rectangular. One cream version also comes in 140 x 200 cm.
Grey and black show dirt less, which suits an entrance or a kitchen. Cream and peach look friendly on a dark wooden floor. Red and orange are there too, plus light green.
Is a recycled rug comfortable indoors?
Barefoot, PET feels smooth and firm, rather like a kilim. If you like it soft, wool is the better choice.
Indoors the smooth, tight surface is practical. Crumbs stay on top, and spilt coffee comes out with lukewarm water and a little mild detergent. Let the spot dry completely afterwards. In the hall use the vacuum. By the sink a broom often does the job. Nothing more needed.
Swapping with the seasons is handy as well. If it spends the summer on the patio and the winter in the lounge, one and the same piece covers the area under the garden table and later under the sofa, provided you choose a size that suits both places from the start. When it should be natural fibre
Recycled material also comes as cotton. Handwoven kilims of 100 % recycled cotton exist as rectangles and as a recycled cotton runner. They're meant for indoors and lie just as flat. Look for them among the cotton rugs.
