Brown Rugs
Brown brings wood and leather to mind, which is exactly why it suits so many homes. The colour feels warm. Ours range from light brown, some of it slightly mottled, to a dark brown that comes close to chocolate.
Jute makes up the biggest share. Cotton and wool follow, along with a few synthetic and viscose designs. Round shapes are especially common here.
Dust and small crumbs show less on brown than on light shades. That makes it an easy colour for daily life, in a hallway as much as under the dining table.
Which Colours Go with a Brown Rug?
Brown and beige create a calm natural look. On light oak parquet, a light brown jute rug hardly reads as a contrast. It looks more like an extension of the floor. More light tones are collected under beige rugs, and slightly greyer ones under taupe rugs. Stronger still is an orange rug. Brown and orange together recall autumn leaves.
Dark brown frames light tiles clearly. And if the room gets little light? Then lean towards light brown. A dark shade swallows a lot of brightness in a north-facing room, whereas a light natural tone reflects what little light there is without being as delicate as cream or white. Pair a dark brown rug with cream cushions and the room feels lighter straight away.
Brown rugs for the living room get along well with a leather sofa and walnut furniture. For the seating area, browse our lounge rugs too.
Materials, Shapes and Sizes
Round designs, Ø 60 cm up to Ø 200 cm, suit the dining table and the reading chair alike. Rectangles reach 200 x 290 cm, so a large brown rug for a seating group is no problem. Runners reach 400 cm.
