Round Rug Ø 160 cm
Just over two square metres, enough for two armchairs and a round coffee table. A 160cm round rug (about 5ft 3in across) forms the centre of a small seating group without filling the room. If it suits your space depends mainly on the furniture.
Testing the size at home
Try it before you order. Lay a piece of string on the floor as a circle with a radius of 80 cm, then arrange the furniture as it will stand later. Do the front legs of the armchairs sit inside the circle? Then it fits. Five minutes, no more.
- two armchairs around a coffee table of Ø 60–80 cm, yes, the front legs stand on it
- a bay window or conservatory with a seating corner, yes
- the middle of a teenager's room, yes
- a three-seater with a coffee table, usually better with Ø 200 cm
If the legs end up outside, move up to a large round rug of Ø 200 cm. Short of space? Compare a 150cm round rug or the compact 120cm round rug.
Materials for a 160cm round rug
Jute and synthetic fibre turn up most often, closely followed by cotton. The sisal-look version blends 80% jute with 20% cotton and has a short pile. Pure jute comes in other diameters, gathered under round jute rug.
Flattest of all is a cotton kilim. Softer choices are viscose, machine-woven polyester high pile, or a handwoven 160cm round rug in pure wool, both of the last two with a fuller pile. For the patio there is a flat polypropylene design as well.
Colours and care
Beige clearly leads. White, red, black, taupe and green are among the others. A beige circle picks up the wood tones of your furniture, while red or black creates a clear focal point.
Vacuum without a rotating brush. Dab stains instead of rubbing. And turn the rug now and then so the walkways wear evenly. All the other diameters, down to Ø 60 and up to Ø 300 cm, are on our round rug overview.

Can I put it outside?
Only the polypropylene indoor-outdoor version. Jute, wool and viscose belong indoors.
