Runner Rug 80x300 cm
Three metres is a typical length for a hallway in a flat. Lay down an 80 x 300 cm runner (about 2ft 7in x 9ft 10in) and it reaches from the coat hooks to just before the lounge door and leaves a strip of floor visible at both ends. Shorter runners up to 300 cm long belong on this page too, such as 70 x 240 cm or 75 x 300 cm.
Wool and cotton make up most of the range. Synthetic fibres and jute follow, and a few runners are viscose. Beige and red lead the colours, and cream and blue are well represented as well.
Where Does an 80 x 300 cm Runner Fit?
Measure the free length first. About 3.30 to 3.60 m suits this size well. Then the recommended 10–20 cm of floor stay visible at each end, and the runner doesn't look squeezed between two door frames. Shorter hallway? Then the 80x200 runners or a length of 240 cm suit better. From about 4.5 metres, a long runner rug in 80 x 400 cm sits better. Very long corridors can take an extra long runner rug instead, at 500 cm.
Where outdoor shoes come in, a pattern helps. A multicoloured vintage-style runner barely shows footprints. Grey stays more neutral. For muddy paws and wet boots, it can also be worth comparing our machine washable rugs.
Kitchen, Bedroom and Smooth Floors
Three metres of runner follow a run of units a little over three and a half metres long. Very flat kilims are practical here, as drawers glide over them. All designs for cooking areas are gathered under kitchen runners.
Towards the bedroom it can be softer. Bare feet, for example. The gabbeh designs as an 80 x 300 cm runner are 100% wool, their pile full and deep, and a few classic oriental-style runners come in this length too.
A few practical points:
- Jute and sisal-look designs are not available as an 80 x 300 cm runner rug. They do come 5 cm narrower.
- A long runner tends to wander, so an anti-slip underlay keeps it in place on tiles and parquet alike.
- For a hallway runner rug longer than 300 cm, measure again, and past five metres lay two runners one after the other with a small gap.

Frequently asked questions
What is 80 x 300 cm in feet?
About 2ft 7in x 9ft 10in.
Do you have it in grey?
Yes. Flatwoven in cotton or soft in wool.
Is there a 75 cm wide version?
Yes, many designs also come in 75 x 300 cm, including the jute runners and the sisal-look runner.
Isn't wool too delicate for a hallway?
Not really. Wool is springy, and its natural lanolin keeps dirt near the surface where the vacuum picks it up. Regular vacuuming is enough.
