Description
Rough under the fingers, jute has a dry, natural feel that suits a plain red circle. This round jute rug is flat and woven by hand in India, so it lies close to the floor. The border gives it a tidy edge. The jute comes from the stems of the Corchorus plant, grown mostly in India and Bangladesh, and the fibres are 80% jute and 20% cotton. The underside is a felt backing with PVC dots.
A circle breaks up the straight lines of a room, which is why it works so well under a round table in the dining room, or as an island in the living room. Underfloor heating suits it. Other rugs in the range come in beige, blue, brown, cream, grey and green, and the red is the boldest of these Round Rugs.
For day-to-day care, our cleaning advice is simple: vacuum with the brush switched off, mop up spills at once with kitchen roll, and keep water and steam away. Keep it in a dry room. The flat weave makes crumbs and hairs easy to vacuum off.
