Rattan chair, linen cushions, a big plant in the corner. Very often the floor is the last thing still missing. Each boho rug in this range is woven by hand, either from jute or from wool, and the colours stay quiet and earthy.
Jute brings a short pile. It feels firm and a little coarse underfoot, and you can choose between rectangular, square, oval and round rugs as well as runners. Wool is softer. With its fuller pile it belongs where you stand barefoot.
Boho rugs in the living room
Here the sofa decides the size. Measure it first. Its front feet stand on the rug, and the coffee table sits on it completely. With a three-seater you usually end up somewhere between 160 x 230 cm and 200 x 300 cm. Torn between two sizes? Take the larger one.
In an open-plan room a large boho rug of 240 x 340 cm or 300 x 400 cm holds the whole seating area together, so the sofa no longer looks like an island floating somewhere in front of the wall. If you need more choice for that corner, have a look at all our living room rugs.
Under the dining table
Round tables like round rugs. The jute version comes in a round shape and works under a small dining table or in a reading corner. For a long table the oval jute rug follows the line of the tabletop. Leave around 60–70 cm of rug beyond the table on every side, because that is roughly what a chair needs when you pull it back. The short jute pile also makes it easier to slide the chairs than a deeper wool pile would.
In the hallway and the kitchen
Narrow spaces need a boho runner rug. Ours are made of jute, measure 60 x 180 cm and have the same pile as the big rectangles. That means hallway and living room can share one material even when the shapes differ.
Want some pattern out there? A checkered rug sits comfortably next to natural tones in a hallway or study, and flat-woven kilim rugs bring traditional motifs.
Beside the bed and in the reading nook
Bohemian style at floor level is mostly about texture. You see and feel the fibre. Jute looks matt and slightly rough, wool is denser and warmer. Beside the bed the small formats from 40 x 60 cm up to 80 x 150 cm are enough, and wool feels kinder on bare feet first thing in the morning.
Beige is the most common colour. Taupe, white, grey and anthracite complete the range. A neutral boho rug in beige stays calm next to white walls and pale wood. Taupe is warmer. It pairs well with cognac leather. Anthracite gives a light sofa a dark counterpart.
Layering works. Put a large, flat jute rug down as the base and a smaller wool rug on top. When the tones repeat, the boho style rug look stays relaxed instead of busy. Prefer more colour? Our colourful rug selection goes further, and every other design is listed under rugs.
Frequently asked questions
Isn't jute scratchy?
It is firmer and coarser than wool, and you notice that barefoot. If softness matters most to you, go for one of the wool rugs.
Do you have the jute boho rug as a runner?
Yes. There are jute runners for the hallway or in front of the kitchen units. Material and pile match the rectangular rugs.
What size do I need under my sofa?
Measure the sofa first. The rug should be a bit wider than the sofa, otherwise it looks lost. Most living rooms end up with 160 x 230 cm or 200 x 300 cm.
