Description
Slippers kicked off by the armchair, a mug of tea on the side table and a taupe circle underneath. This round jute rug turns a reading corner into its own little island.
Jute makes up 80% of the surface and cotton the other 20%. Both were woven by hand in India, over a felt backing with PVC nubs. Undyed jute has a golden-brown sheen and is often called the golden fibre, and the taupe here, like several shades across our Jute Rugs, stays in that earthy family.
With a flat weave and no pile, the taupe rug gives an armchair corner a soft outline. Heated floors suit it fine. It works under a round table as well, which is why it sits among our Dining Room Rugs. Grey, cream and wood all go well with it, so it fits easily among your lounge rugs.
Measure first, then use our advice on rug sizes to pick a circle rug that reaches the chair legs.
Keep it dry and vacuum with the brush off, never with steam. Mop up spills with kitchen roll at once, the method our care guide recommends for jute, so no ring dries in. Taupe jute needs dried-on bits scraped off before the vacuum goes over it.
