Description
Turquoise sits between blue and green, which makes it easy to match with white bedding, grey sofas or natural wood. This plain Gabbeh brings that fresh colour in as a wool rug with a calm surface.
What is the turquoise Gabbeh rug woven from?
Pure wool, in the 100% pile and on the back. Its crimped fibres trap tiny pockets of air, so it feels light and springy. Weavers in India made it by hand, with warp and weft crossing to build the structure and a short pile on top, which makes it a low pile rug. It sits alongside the other wool rugs from jaloom.
Which rooms suit a turquoise Gabbeh?
Bedrooms first. Beside the bed or across its foot, the colour looks fresh against white linen, which is why it appears among our bedroom rugs. Placed as a rug for the living room, it gives the sofa area in the lounge a clear base, and it lies flat enough to work as a dining room rug. Over underfloor heating the wool is fine. Each one is handmade and can differ slightly from the listed size, so choose the size with some floor left around it.
How do I look after the turquoise Gabbeh?
Blot spills on the turquoise wool with a light cloth, working from the edge inwards without rubbing. A slightly smaller underlay keeps it flat and in place, as our care guide notes. Loose fibres from the first weeks go with regular vacuuming.
