Cotton is a plant fibre taken from the seed hairs of the cotton plant, and it takes dye well, which gives the colour depth. Both the surface and the backing are 100% cotton. The Kelim Mia was woven by hand in India, so it may differ slightly from the stated size. The Mia also comes in other colours. Its structured pattern is classic for kilim rugs, and with surface and backing in cotton it is a true cotton rug.
