What is this cotton rug made from?

Both the pile and the back are cotton, and the pile is 100% recycled cotton. The yellow runner is handwoven in India on a handloom from strips of fabric cut from textile offcuts, so the colours fall slightly differently on every piece. Because it is flat-woven, it is light and easy to move and shake out. Like our Cotton Rugs, the yellow runner is soft and matt underfoot, and the Kelim Chindi also comes in beige, blue, brown, grey and green.

Does the striped runner suit a kitchen or a kids' room?

It does. As a kitchen runner it sits in front of the worktop, and the stripes keep the look calm.
