Plain dark brown with a gentle shine, the Ava has no pattern to compete with wooden furniture or textured cushions. The short pile lies even, and underfloor heating is fine below it. Dark brown sits well beside oak or walnut, and it gives a pale floor a clear frame. Cream cushions or a rust-coloured throw on the sofa echo its warm brown.

Warp and weft give the handwoven structure, made in India with a 100% viscose pile on cotton. Handmade pieces can be slightly off the stated size. Placed below a table it works as a dining room rug, one of our dining room rugs and part of our viscose rugs. Living rooms suit it as well, and the size guide helps with the format.

Following our rug care tips, keep the dark brown Ava out of the main walkways and on an underlay a little smaller than the rug. Viscose weakens when wet, so treat spills dry. Its short pile keeps a soft lustre.
