Deep, dense and properly black, the Breeze is a shaggy rug that you notice before you notice anything else in the room. Because it is a plain colour, the texture does the talking: long fibres that move and catch the light as you walk across them.

Black pile for the lounge and the bedroom

Put it in front of a pale sofa and it grounds the whole seating area, which makes it a strong pick for living room schemes that lean light and airy. Beside the bed it softens the first step out of bed, and it feels plush underfoot. The Breeze is rectangular and comes in several sizes, and the size guide helps you decide how far it should reach under the furniture. Against warm wood and brass, the black Breeze makes a bold living room rug.

Polyester and cotton in the black Breeze

Its pile is 100% polyester, with a cotton backing, and the whole rug is machine woven in China. Like our other synthetic fibre rugs, it takes up very little moisture. The black version is also suitable for underfloor heating.

Soft enough for the children's room

Children tend to treat a pile this deep as a place to sprawl, which makes it a good fit for a nursery or a playroom. The Breeze is also available in beige, blue, cream, dark brown, dark grey and green.

Looking after your black Breeze

Vacuum it without a rotating brush, so the long fibres are not tugged. Keep any water to a minimum. Our rug care guide also recommends a non-slip underlay cut a little under the size of the black Breeze, so it stays put and the corners lie flat. Comb the pile through with a wide-toothed comb now and then so it does not mat, and turn the rug regularly.
