Dark brown, deep and soft underfoot: the Breeze looks a bit like a pool of chocolate-coloured fleece spread out on the floor. As a plain round rug, it keeps the attention on texture rather than design.

Why a dark brown circle works in a lounge

The circle breaks up all the straight lines of sofas, shelves and skirting boards. Beside an armchair or in a reading corner it makes a small island of its own. In a living room, the dark brown of the Breeze Rund stays calm against pale walls and wooden floors. Because the colour is solid, it sits happily alongside patterned cushions without anything clashing.

Bedroom and nursery floors

Bare feet land on pile instead of cold boards. As a round bedroom rug beside the bed it looks relaxed, and in a nursery it gives children a soft spot to sit and play. If you like the idea but not the colour, the Breeze also comes in beige, blue, cream, dark grey and green. Tape a circle on the floor first, and our rug size guide helps you decide how large the dark brown Breeze should be.

Polyester pile, cotton back, dark brown

Its pile is 100% polyester, the soft, colourfast fibre of our Synthetic Fibre Rugs. The backing is cotton, and the rug is machine-woven in China. Classed as a shaggy rug, it has a long pile that you notice first. It copes with underfloor heating.

Vacuuming and combing the dark brown circle

Vacuum it without a rotating brush. Keep any damp cleaning light, and lay a non-slip pad slightly smaller than the rug underneath, which our rug care guide recommends so it does not creep or curl at the edge. Comb the pile through with a wide-toothed comb now and then so it doesn't mat, and turn the rug regularly.
