Run your hand over the Breeze in dark grey and the first thing you notice is the depth of the pile: soft and a little springy, the way a good shaggy rug should feel underfoot. The shape is a true circle, which makes this round rug an easy way to soften a room full of straight lines.

The pile is 100% polyester, a synthetic fibre that takes up very little moisture, and the backing is cotton. It is machine woven in China, and the plain, even colour looks consistent across the whole surface. Dark grey is a calm shade that sits well with oak, white walls and almost any sofa. Because it is a plain design, your cushions and curtains set the tone.

In the living room, a circle under the coffee table pulls a seating area together without needing a big rectangle. It also works as a soft landing spot beside the bed, or as a play island for little ones. A plain, forgiving colour like this deep grey is a good fit for a children's room. The dark grey Breeze has the deep pile of our Shaggy & High Pile Rugs, and it also comes in other colours.

This rug is suitable for underfloor heating, so cold winter floors are no reason to skip it. Thinking about space? The size guide shows how to mark out the right circle on your floor before you order.

Vacuum without the rotating brush. Comb the dark grey pile out with a wide-toothed comb now and then so it doesn't mat, brush flat patches back up against the direction of the pile, and give the rug a turn every so often, as our rug care guide suggests.
