With a flatweave rug like this one, the pattern does the talking rather than the pile, and the woven design is what you notice first. The yarn is 100% polyester spun from recycled PET, with a polyester backing, and it is handwoven in India. Warp and weft build the pattern and the structure together, so the surface stays flat and even. It is one of our Synthetic Fibre Rugs and works both indoors and outdoors.

Because it lies flat, it slides under furniture legs easily and suits a spot on the patio as well as the kitchen, where a rug sees a lot of wear. Picture it in front of the worktop, under the dining table or by the sofa. The rectangular grey weave suits a sofa or dining table as well as any of our Living Room Rugs, and our size guide helps you choose the right format. Fine over underfloor heating, too.

Spills sit on the polyester for a while, so you can blot first and then treat the spot with a cloth dipped in soapy water, as set out in our cleaning advice. Keep heat well away from the grey weave.
