Cream Deja suits a kitchen, and it works just as well in a lounge, like many designs in our Living Room Rugs. As a flatweave rug it looks calm and light, with a gently patterned look. Underfloor heating is not a worry, and a dining room rug that lies flat makes pulling chairs in and out easy. A tipped glass sits on the fibre for a while, so there is time to blot it.

The pile is 100% polypropylene, a synthetic fibre from the Synthetic Fibre Rugs collection, dyed right through, so the colour runs through the whole fibre. Machine-woven in Turkey with a jute backing, it lies flat and is easy to sweep, which suits both a kitchen and an outdoor spot. Other shapes exist besides this rectangle. Polypropylene takes up hardly any water, so a spill sits on the surface for a while and you can blot it with a cloth. For anything stubborn, use warm water and a drop of mild washing-up liquid, as described in our cleaning advice. A brush-head vacuum is fine on this short weave. Cream Deja stays looking fresh with little effort, as long as it is kept away from hot pans.
