Picture the corner by the window in a lounge, where a sofa and two armchairs never quite agree on a layout. A beige round rug settles the argument, because a circle has no front and no back. It also softens a square room that feels a bit boxy, a trick that works just as well in a living room corner as under a reading chair.

Hand-tufted microfibre in sandy beige

Silky's surface is 100% polyester, spun as very fine microfibre, on a cotton backing. Each one is hand-tufted in India: the yarn is punched into a base cloth with a hand-guided tool, then the back is covered. Because of that, the surface looks a shade lighter or darker depending on the light and which way you look at it, which gives this beige rug a gently shifting tone rather than a flat one.

Silky in the bedroom and nursery

Soft microfibre underfoot makes it a lovely thing to step onto first thing in the morning. A circle also gives a child a ready-made play spot, which is why it turns up so often among kids rugs and as a nursery rug. The beige circle sits happily with our Kids Room Rugs, and its polyester microfibre is the same fibre used in our Synthetic Fibre Rugs. The Silky Round is suitable for underfloor heating.

It comes in several sizes, and which size to pick mostly depends on how much floor you want to leave showing around the edge.

Keeping the beige Silky Round fluffy

Liquid sits on the fibre for a while, so you have time to blot, and the shaggy pile only needs a little water. Comb it with a wide-toothed comb so it doesn't mat, as set out in our care guide. Flattened patches lift when you brush them against the pile. Vacuum without the rotating brush.
