Grey, plain and soft: the Silky is a round rug in one even colour that softens straight lines in a room. Its shaggy pile is 100% polyester microfibre, tufted by hand in India onto a cotton backing. Because the yarn is spun so fine, it feels soft underfoot. Polyester takes up hardly any moisture, and the rug is suitable for underfloor heating.

A circle rug like this looks right in a living room, where it can sit by an armchair, and it works just as well beside a bed. Tufting by hand means the surface shifts slightly with the light, so one patch may look a shade lighter than the next. Spills stay on top of the fibre for a while, so you have time to blot them with a cloth and only a little water. Comb the grey pile now and then so it doesn't mat, as set out in our notes on rug care. Vacuum the round Silky without the rotating brush whenever it needs freshening up.
