Grey wool next to a rust-coloured sofa, a teak sideboard or white bed linen keeps things calm. The Gabbeh Lola in grey is a plain wool rug that lets those pieces lead.

• 100% wool pile on a wool backing
• Handwoven in India, gabbeh style
• Plain grey, short pile
• Rectangular, for the living room, bedroom or dining room
• Suitable for underfloor heating

A rectangle fits in front of a sofa, beside a bed or under a dining table, and the grey Lola covers all three. Next to the sofa, it fits in with our Living Room Rugs as a quiet base. On tiles or boards, add an underlay. Handwoven pieces can vary slightly, so leave some room when using our advice on rug sizes.

Fibres that come loose from the new wool settle with regular vacuuming, and an underlay a little smaller than the rug keeps it in place. Knowing how to clean your rug starts with blotting spills from the edge inwards, without rubbing. A pale cloth is all you need for that on the grey Lola.
