Description
One even shade of green covers the Gabbeh Lola runner from end to end, broken only by the fine texture that hand weaving leaves in the wool. It reads as calm rather than loud. Green like this sits nicely with natural wood and white walls.
Where the green Lola runner fits
A runner fits more spots than its shape suggests. Beside the bed it gives a soft strip to step onto, along a hallway it marks the route to the door, and it also suits an entrance or the floor in front of a kitchen worktop. Heated floors are fine, so it works as a hall runner over underfloor heating too. A handmade runner may vary slightly from its listed length, and choosing the right size means allowing a little floor at each end.
Hand-woven wool in the green Gabbeh
Pile and backing are both 100% wool. Woven by hand in India, this wool rug gets its structure from warp and weft crossing on the loom. Pure wool makes it a close relative of our wool rugs, and a pair beside a double bed sits well among bedroom rugs.
Caring for the green Lola runner
Blot any spill with a light cloth, working from the outside in and never rubbing, which is the first rule in our care guide for wool. On a smooth floor, an underlay trimmed just inside the runner's edges stops it slipping. Turn it now and then so sunlight and footfall spread evenly.
