After bath time, small children sit on the grey Holly Zen Round with a picture book while you read to them. Square rooms benefit too, because the round shape takes the edge off the corners.

• 100% polyester microfibre pile

• Short pile, suitable for underfloor heating

Grey hides the odd crumb better than white, and this round rug is easy to move from the nursery to the living room later on. Its fine yarn links it to jaloom's synthetic fibre rugs, while the shape puts it with our round rugs. Among childrens rugs it is a calm, grown-up option. Before ordering, tape a circle on the floor and compare it with our advice on rug sizes.

Spills on grey microfibre are easy to catch in time, as our rug care tips explain, because liquid does not soak in at once. On smooth floors, lay an underlay slightly smaller than the circle. For a juice stain, blot it first. Then dab with water and a mild cleaning agent and rinse with clean water.
