Bedrooms with wooden floors often need something soft at the side of the bed, and the brown Kelim Chindi Uni fills that spot without fuss. Kids' rooms get a warm, plain base for play, which is why it sits among jaloom's kids room rugs. Under a dining table it works too, provided the chairs stay on it when pulled back, so tape out the area before choosing the right size. Being a washable rug, it can be machine washed alone at 30 °C and laid flat to dry, with the tumble dryer left off.

Chindi rugs are woven on a handloom from strips of cut fabric, and every piece has its own slight variation. This one is 100% cotton, handwoven in India. Like jaloom's cotton rugs in general, it can go over underfloor heating.

Small marks come out with cold water and a mild cleaner, dabbed on gently. Let the brown rug dry right through afterwards, as our cleaning advice stresses. Day to day, vacuum lightly and shake.
