A turquoise strip of colour along the kitchen counter, or beside a child's bed, brightens a room without shouting about it. The Kelim Chindi Uni runner in Turquoise is plain-coloured, flat and finished with fringes at both ends.

This cotton rug is woven by hand on a loom in India, in 100% cotton, with a cotton backing. Flat-woven cotton is light and easy to move, so you can lift it and shake it out with ease. The surface is soft and matt, and it is flat-woven rather than piled.

As a hallway runner it frames the walkway. Placed in front of the units, it makes a cheerful kitchen runner, and in a bedroom or kids' room, a pair, one on each side of the bed, gives you a soft landing. Nurseries suit it well, and the turquoise is one of the easier kids' rugs to live with, since it goes through the wash. Because it is flat, it also sits comfortably on underfloor heating. There are several colours of this model, including white, beige, blue, brown, yellow and grey, so you can match or contrast with the room.

This turquoise one is among the washable rugs in our range, and it can go in the machine at 30 °C. Wash it on its own, let it dry flat and keep it out of the tumble dryer. Between washes, a light vacuum and a shake outside are plenty, and for a spill, look after the runner by blotting with cold water and a mild detergent.
