Strips of cotton, woven on a hand loom

The blue Chindi is woven on a hand loom from strips of fabric cut from textile offcuts, so the colour falls a little differently from one piece to the next. Pile and backing are both 100% cotton, and the weave is flat. Flat-woven cotton is light and easy to move about, which helps when you want to shift it for cleaning. It has a plain, unpatterned surface and fringes around the edge.

Caring for the blue Chindi

Small marks come out with cold water and a mild detergent, dabbed on gently. You can machine wash it at 30 °C on its own and dry it flat, not in the tumble dryer; the care guide has the full details. Let it dry through completely before it goes back on the floor. A flat weave like this is easy to shake out.
