Soft, matt and a little bit chunky: cotton gives the brown Kelim Chindi Uni its relaxed feel underfoot. The weave is flat, so there is no pile to sink into, and the brown has a warm, earthy tone.

Fringes finish the edge of the circle. A circle works well where straight lines dominate, for instance in a square room or beside a sofa with angular lines, and it suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and nurseries alike, where it sits well with our kids' rugs. Its round shape gives a reading corner or a play spot a clear boundary without taking over the floor.

This cotton round rug was woven by hand in India, with 100% cotton on the surface and cotton on the back as well. Cotton is a plant fibre taken from the seed hairs of the cotton plant, and it takes dye well. Because it is handmade, small differences in the weave are to be expected. The rug can go over underfloor heating.

The right size depends on the room, and our advice on rug sizes helps with the measuring. Other shades of the same design are available too: white, beige, blue, yellow and grey, so there is a shade for every room.

One of the washable rugs in our range, this Chindi can go into the machine at 30 °C on its own. For everyday upkeep, a light vacuum and a shake are enough to keep the brown cotton clean. Let the rug dry well after any spot cleaning.
