A white rug in a nursery sounds brave. It is less so when the rug can be washed, and the white Lia can, despite being pure wool.

Its pile is 100% wool, woven by hand in India. Plain white brightens a dark floor and sits quietly next to pale wood, rattan or bedding in natural tones. In the living room it goes in front of the sofa, and in the bedroom at the foot of the bed. It also makes sense in a kitchen, simply because it can be washed. It is fine with underfloor heating.

Because it is handwoven, the size can differ slightly from what is stated, so check our size advice before you order. Like the other white rugs in our range, it keeps a room feeling light, and the Lia also comes in beige and taupe among our wool rugs.

The white Lia goes in the machine alone, on a wool cycle with a wool detergent, as the label says. Let it dry flat and keep it out of the tumble dryer. Blot any spill straight away with a light-coloured cloth, without rubbing, as our care guide describes step by step.
