Description
Taupe and texture go well together. Under bare feet this runner feels firm and dry, with the slightly rough grain of a natural fibre, and its grey-brown shade looks calm in a kitchen.
Without a pile, crumbs and pet hair lift off quickly. That makes it handy as a kitchen runner in front of the hob or sink, one of our kitchen rugs in a quiet tone. Halls and bedside spots suit the long shape just as well, so it doubles as a hall runner. Heated floors suit it.
Our sizing tips help you pick a length that leaves floor showing at each end.
Woven by hand in India, this jute runner is 80% jute and 20% cotton, which gives it a sisal look, and it has a felt back carrying PVC dots. That main fibre links it with jaloom's jute rugs.
Hanging the taupe runner over a banister to beat it now and then is part of our care guide for this fibre. Damp rooms are no place for it, and an underlay slightly smaller than the runner stops it slipping. Its flat weave shakes clean easily.
