Description
Grey stripes and loose fringes go well with a white kitchen table, enamel mugs and a fruit bowl. The Kelim Chindi in grey brings a relaxed, handmade look into the room.
Flat and light, it lies close to the floor and is easy to lift and shake out. In front of the sink it works as a kitchen rug, and it sits with jaloom's kitchen rugs. Under the dining table, pick a size that keeps the chairs on the rug even when they're pushed back, and work it out with masking tape and our sizing tips. Children's rooms and nurseries suit it as well, and grey stripes look just as at home in a living room.
The weave is 100% recycled cotton, made on a handloom in India from strips cut from leftover fabric. Each grey Kelim Chindi therefore turns out a little different in how the shades fall. It's one of our cotton rugs and can go over underfloor heating. Handwoven pieces may also differ slightly in size.
Shake it out and vacuum lightly, and use an underlay with grip, as our rug care tips explain, to keep the light cotton weave flat on the floor. After blotting a spill with lukewarm water, let the patch dry right through. Then the chairs can go back.
