Soft beige with a checked pattern is an easy colour to live with, and this In- & Outdoor Boho rug suits a bright kitchen as happily as a shaded patio. Its synthetic fibre surface stays light and neutral next to wood, white units or dark furniture.

These flatweave rugs are machine woven in Turkey on jacquard looms, which gives crisp lines and an even check. A jute backing carries the 100% polypropylene pile, and the weave lies flat, so chairs are easy to move. It works under the dining table and just as well in a living room. In front of the worktop it makes a tidy kitchen rug. As an outdoor rug it sits happily under the garden seating, so the furniture stands on it. It comes in several sizes and shapes, including a runner and a round version in the same beige, and you can choose the size to suit your table.

Laid on non-slip underlay, it stays put and the corners keep flat. Spills stay on the surface for a while, so blot first, then use a little mild soap in water, as our cleaning advice for the beige Boho explains. Then dab with clean water.
