Blue next to pale oak, a white-washed dresser or linen curtains looks calm and fresh. The Alia in blue is a round jute rug that fits that kind of kitchen without taking over.

• 100% jute, jute backing
• Handwoven in India
• Flatweave
• Round, in a plain blue
• Suitable for underfloor heating

Jute is a plant fibre that grows back and breaks down naturally. Because the weave is flat, crumbs and hairs sit on the surface and come off easily. A round rug like this one softens straight lines and works as a little island in a reading corner or beside an armchair. Woven from jute right down to the backing, the Alia has the dry, natural feel of jaloom's Jute Rugs. Its flat profile keeps it low in front of the sink, the spot where our Kitchen Rugs pick up the most crumbs. Alia is also made in grey, green, light brown, taupe and white. Your table and the free floor around it decide which size to pick.

Dry care for the blue Alia

Scrape off dried-on bits first, then vacuum the blue Alia as our care guide describes. To beat out dust, hang it over a railing. Damp rooms don't suit it.
