What is this white runner made of?

Both the weave and the backing are 100% cotton. Cotton is a plant fibre taken from the seed hairs of the cotton plant, and it takes dye well, which is why the same Kelim Chindi comes in white, beige, blue, brown, yellow and grey. The surface is flat, so it feels soft and matt rather than thick. Because it is woven by hand, it can vary slightly from the stated size. Heated floors underneath won't bother it.

Where would a white runner go?

The shape suits a narrow space. In the kitchen it makes a tidy kitchen runner in front of the units, and the same length works as a hallway runner or beside the bed. How do I keep a white runner looking fresh?

This one can go in the washing machine at 30 °C, which is the main reason white feels realistic here. Wash it on its own, then dry it flat. For smaller marks, dab with cool water and a little mild soap, then let it dry fully. Turn the runner over now and then, since both sides can be used.
