Teal sits between blue and green. It feels fresh, sometimes almost like summer and water, and it keeps a quiet room awake. We currently have twelve teal rugs, most of them handwoven wool. How they differ:
- wool, woven by hand, fuller pile, rectangular, round, square or as a runner
- a flat cotton kilim, very low, rectangular or as a runner
- a striped jute blend with one fifth cotton, teal showing in the stripes
- machine-woven polypropylene with a short pile and a vintage look
Teal in the room
With white walls and pale wood it feels airy, almost coastal. Cognac leather turns it into a lively retro mix. Next to a grey living room sofa, a teal rug is clearly what you notice first. For sizing around the sofa, look at the living room rugs collection.
Too strong? A grey rug in the next room brings some calm back. Or go further with a blue rug or a green rug in the hall.
Materials and sizes
A teal wool rug feels warm and softens footsteps. Other colours in the same fibre are collected under wool rugs. The kilim is quite different. It lies so flat that doors swing over it.
Most designs come in 120 x 170 and 160 x 230 cm. Large rooms get 240 x 340 or 300 x 400 cm, small spots 60 x 90 cm. Runners range from 60 x 180 to 80 x 400 cm, and round teal rugs come in wool.
Vacuum wool regularly at medium power. Dab stains straight away with a damp cloth.
Frequently asked questions

Right in between. A blue with plenty of green in it.
Is there a square one?
Yes, one design in handwoven wool with a fuller pile. It sits well under a square dining table.
