Description
Run your hand over this peach runner and the surface feels dry, firm and slightly rough. That texture comes from the fibre. The colour is soft and warm, a plain field framed by a border.
Peach runner for kitchen and hall
Long and narrow, it lies in front of the worktop as a kitchen runner, where you stand to chop and wash up, and it brings a gentle colour to our kitchen rugs. Hallways suit it too, as a hallway runner. Long or angled halls often look tidier with two identical runners than with one. It suits underfloor heating, and our advice on rug sizes helps you choose a length.
What the peach runner is woven from
Woven by hand in India, it combines 80% jute and 20% cotton in a flat weave with a sisal look. The back is felt with PVC dots. On smooth tiles or laminate this jute runner sits better on an underlay. Jute is the main fibre here, shared with our jute rugs, and it makes the weave feel firm.
Keeping the peach runner clean
Care for it dry, vacuum with the brush off and never use steam. Spills come up easily with kitchen roll at once, before a ring forms, and a non-slip underlay a bit smaller than the runner, as our cleaning advice suggests, keeps it from creeping. Keep the peach fibre dry.
