A grey linen sofa, oak shelves and a few green plants sit easily on the Soni. Its beige vintage design keeps the colours soft, so the furniture stays in charge.

Jacquard machines in Turkey weave the Soni, which gives the pattern precise, even lines. The short pile is 85% polypropylene and 15% polyester on a jute backing, and it belongs to our Synthetic Fibre Rugs.

This low pile rug works well in a living room where the sofa and armchairs stand with their front feet on it, because then the seating reads as one group. That is why the Soni appears among our Living Room Rugs. A beige rug like this also suits a kitchen or a dining room. Among kids rugs it is a calmer choice for a nursery. Warm floors are fine.

The Soni is made in several sizes, and our advice on rug sizes shows how much of the sofa should stand on it.

Spills don't sink straight into the polypropylene pile, which gives you time to blot. Afterwards, dab the spot with lukewarm water and a little gentle soap, then go over it again with clear water, as our rug care tips describe. Beige corners lie flatter on floorboards once an anti-slip mat, cut just short of the rug, is in place.
