What is the Nala in beige made from?

The yarn is 100% jute and the backing is jute too. Jute comes from the stems of the Corchorus plant, grown mostly in India and Bangladesh, and it has a golden-brown sheen that you can still see in this beige. The weave is flat. Handwoven on a loom in India, it can differ slightly from the stated size. The surface feels firmer and a bit rougher than wool, a texture it shares with all our jute rugs.

Will a square shape fit my room?

Square suits spaces that are about as wide as they are long, and it makes a calm base under a low table or a pair of armchairs. Living rooms suit it too, under a coffee table. How do I look after the beige Nala?

Vacuum on a low setting with the brush switched off, as our care guide describes, and mop up spills at once with kitchen roll rather than water. A pad slightly smaller than the rug stops it creeping and keeps the corners flat. Shake it out now and then.
