Soft beige squares on a lighter ground give this checked rug a relaxed, slightly rustic look, the sort of pattern that sits happily next to wooden furniture and linen.

• 100% polypropylene pile on a jute backing
• Machine-woven in Turkey
• Flat woven, rectangular
• Suitable for indoors and outdoors

Like other flatweave rugs, the Boho in beige has a flat, smooth surface, so chair legs glide over it more easily. Polypropylene is dyed right through, so the colour is part of the fibre itself, and in the lounge it makes a calm living room rug if you want something quieter than a bold print. Because the Boho is also suitable for outdoors, you can move it to a terrace in summer. You can lay it over underfloor heating, but polypropylene is sensitive to heat, so keep hot pans and irons well away. On a kitchen floor, the beige check benefits from its synthetic fibre, which lets crumbs sit on top.

Spills on the Boho in beige

As our care guide explains, polypropylene absorbs hardly any water, so a splash of coffee stays on the surface long enough for you to blot it. Soapy water deals with what remains, and clean water finishes the job. Choose an anti-slip underlay that is a little smaller than the rug and the corners will stay flat. Use a brush to lift any flattened pile.
