A little over two and a half square metres, about 5ft 3in square. A 160x160 rug takes two armchairs and a side table, or a beanbag and a pile of comics in a teenager's room.
Our range has square designs in 150 x 150 cm, the closest size. That is ten centimetres less per side than 160 x 160 cm, so measure your space before you order.
In a bay window the square echoes the shape of the glass. An armchair with a footstool fits, with space left around it. Keep a hand's width between the rug and the radiator under the window.
Which fibre suits your 160x160 rug?
Gabbeh Uni is wool handwoven in India, and the square version comes in many colours. It keeps feet warm through the winter. On a stone floor that is the first thing you notice.
For sitting on the floor in front of a games console, there is the long pile of Breeze in blue, or Eddy in white. Both are machine-woven, and the white one shows a spilt drink sooner than a dark shade.
